Thoughts On Happiness... And Dog Walking

This morning as I was getting into my car at the normal time (6:40), a woman, likely around 40ish, was out walking her two dogs. Typically, this would not be an event to (literally) write home about. But what was on her face was amazing. She was wearing the world's largest, most genuine, teeth barring, soul sharing, smile. She looked over at me and waved at the goofy house across from us sporting two enormous plastic Easter bunnies, giggled and kept on grinning and walking.

I, of course, started to giggle myself. And found myself driving to the train smiling thinking that it really is that simple to be happy and joyful. It really is possible to just choose to be happy and to smile. I also thought, maybe that lady is cookoo bird, but who cares... Even if she's cooky, she's the happiest cookoo bird I've ever seen and it's still infectious for a serious little type-A chick like me.

And here I am on the train, smiling as I think about this lady. So the next time I walk my dogs, I'm giving it a spin. Just grinning for grinning's sake and seeing what happens. Will you throw the world your smile today?

Happiness

We are happy when we have family, we are happy when we have friends and almost all the other things we think make us happy are actually just ways of getting more family and friends.

This quote by Daniel Gilbert sums up my feelings about this whole weekend filled with crafts and loving time with my favorite girls and LB. Decreasing my wedding stress level by being around my family/friends was so needed.
