Bar Room Currently
/Alright. This little bar room is what Mad Men dreams are made of. The next steps I have for it are this coffee table and EVENTUALLY grass-cloth wallpaper on the upper half of the room and a chunky wainscoting/molding on the bottom half. But this is what we started with:
We painted this room Thunder: a slightly darker shade of gray than the Stonington on the rest of the first floor. We added curtains, a couch, a side chair, a bar/credenza, and a new light fixture. And here is where we are currently:
Here you can see the subtle difference in the colors of the rooms. It's so tough to capture the accurate colors (damn yellow light):
But essentially, I was able to make this room have the beginnings of my bar room vision on about $900... including the light fixture. :) At night this little space is still warm:
And during the day I just walk in there and stare and think, "Yes." I sort of feel like it is the showpiece of the house right now:
There are still a bunch of accessories to add in here. but here is the current source list for everything you see!
10: Yellow Chair: Target
11: Shelf: Crate and Barrel
12: Side tables: Crate and barrel
